Thank you Courageous Crew!
As you are reading this, we have just completed five days of VBS: The Secret of Treasure Island. This article is written with all the 100 volunteers in mind, as a token of appreciation for them. For five days, the church functioned as a family of God, just like in the days of Acts. We ate together, served together, laughed and cried together; and we shared one common vision, which is embracing God as our greatest treasure.
Many worked behind the scenes and their acts of love will be what remain in my heart even after VBS is long over. Sisters who came to help though they have tremendous health challenges at home, a doctor who closes her clinic every year to serve in VBS, the aunties who came and cook while it was still dark in the early hours of the morning, volunteers who served in the morning and went back to work in the afternoon, a dear sister in Christ who has cancer and still came to help, church leaders who volunteered daily to drive the kids without transportation, and many, many more but I have not enough space here to tell of.
It has been a blessing and honour to spend a week with my family, serving and treasuring God together as our greatest treasure. May the many truths about God which we learned this week help us to see more clearly that truly, our treasure is in heaven; and we hold loosely our lives here on this earth because one day this earth will be no more and Jesus will come to make a new heaven on earth.
See you all again next year!! Remember God's our Treasure, beyond measure!
